Features & Settings
Overview
In Mezan, the features and settings are concepts that interact with all the modules in Mezan. They can be used to configure Mezan to your business needs, and extend the core functionality of Mezan.
The core philosophy of Mezan is to make starting and running your business as easy as possible, while providing advanced features and settings that you can use to customize Mezan to your business needs whenever you need to.
Most of the settings and features in Mezan provide sensible defaults when you set your organization up with the recommended defaults. Some of the features and settings are included in every plan on Mezan, and some are only available in the more premium plans.
Features & Settings
The following features and settings are available in Mezan's:
- Organization Details: Configure the details of your organization. This includes the name of the organization, the tax number,the address, and the contact information, and the logos to be used in your document print templates.
- Team Members: Manage your organization's team members on Mezan and send invitations to join your organization. This includes the name of the members, the email addresses, and the roles of the members.
- Team Roles: Manage the role definitions for your organization. This includes the name of the roles & the permissions of the roles.
- Point of Sale: Configure your point of sale settings to tailor your checkout experience.
- Transaction Defaults: Set default values and behaviors for new transactions.
- Transaction Counters: Manage and configure automatic numbering systems for your transactions.
- Transaction Locks: Set up rules for when transactions can be modified or become locked for editing.
- Receipt Payment Methods: Configure the payment methods available for your receipts.
- Tax: Manage tax configurations, rates, and rules for your transactions.
- Custom Fields: Create additional fields to capture business-specific information across various modules.
- Custom Templates: Manage and customize document templates for invoices, receipts, and other transaction documents.
- Attachments Library: Manage files and documents that can be attached to various records in Mezan.
- Comments: Add comments to records or transactions to communicate with other team members, to keep relevant information, or to track the history of a record.
- Table Views: Manage the table views for various modules in Mezan.
Internal Concepts
The following internal concepts are features of Mezan that are not configurable by users, but are used to power how Mezan works:
- Inventory Tracking: There are many different standards for inventory tracking. Mezan runs its internal inventory tracking system with the weighted average method by default, this is at the core of Mezan's inventory management system.
- Currencies, Precision & Rounding: Mezan uses specific precision and rounding rules for financial calculations, which are used to ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial data.
