Comments
Overview
Add and manage comments on various records in Mezan, enabling team communication and tracking discussions related to business records.
The Comments feature in Mezan allows your team to communicate and track discussions related to various business records. Comments provide a centralized way to document important notes, decisions, and feedback directly connected to specific records in the system, improving collaboration and record-keeping.
Accessing Comments
Comments are available on many record types throughout Mezan, including:
- Transactions (invoices, receipts, journals, etc.)
- Contacts
- Products
- Assets
- And many other record types
The Comments section appears at the bottom of the record details view, where you can add comments to the record.
Permissions
- Team members can add comments to any record they have access to
- Team members can edit and delete only their own comments
- Managers can edit and delete any comment in the organization
Use Cases
- Document important decisions or clarifications related to transactions
- Provide context about unusual entries or special circumstances
- Request information from team members about specific records
- Track the history of discussions related to a business record
- Document approval processes and authorizations
Planned Improvements to Comments
A key feature for comments we are planning to introduce is to allow "tagging" users in comments, so you can tag a user in a comment and they will receive a notification. This will help improve communication and collaboration between team members, and eliminate the need for team members to reach out to their team outside of Mezan as well to let them know about important information.
So approval workflows can be initiated by tagging the approver in the comment, and they will receive a notification to approve or reject the request, or other use cases that require communication between team members about a specific record.
